How to approach this section
- Read the tour-information labels before playing the recording. Transport, group size, a date, a place name, prices and a booking reference require different kinds of answers. Predict the category rather than guessing the final word.
- Keep the two activities in Questions 5–6 separate from the short-answer notes. Choose two options from the printed list. The checker awards one mark for each distinct correct choice, regardless of order.
- Listen for a correction before committing to a price. In this recording the agent checks the basic tour cost and gives 280 dollars. An earlier approximate figure is not the confirmed answer.
- Check dates, spelling and numbers after listening. Ordinary forms such as 18 April and April 18 are accepted in this adapted version. Keep the printed word limits in view, particularly for names and the booking reference.
Worked review example
For Question 7, the confirmed basic tour price is 280. Enter the number in the price field; do not substitute the approximate price mentioned before the agent checks. This illustrates why the final confirmed detail matters in an information-booking conversation.
Common mistake to avoid
Do not confuse the basic tour price with a deposit, discount or a separate charge. Check the field label and the point in the conversation where that particular detail is confirmed.
